Star Surround Quilt Along - Building Block Centers
The Star Surround Quilt Along is getting exciting now that all of our components are pieced and it's time to build the block centers!
I'm still working on my flying geese for Batman's quilt, but putting my center together for the 40" quilt block took no time at all. I pressed my seams open as suggested, hoping for a nice flat center when it's done. It even looks pretty from the back.
Melissa has done such a great job of making each step easy to understand and simple that I really think a pretty new quilter could make this with no trouble. Making one large block to start with would be a good way to try it out and practice these techniques.
You can see more of these over at the Flickr Group or by visiting the other blogs that have linked up on Melissa's post.
